A fun challenge carpet cleaning in Fairbanks today! Dye transferred to brand new, very nice commercial carpet…

Label transfers from Tyvek

Brand new carpet and dye transfer damage
How would you feel if you were just finishing a beautiful multi-million dollar building and found this repeated down 150’+ feet of hallway? Yes, it was a ‘bummer’…

Trying to go above and beyond “the extra mile”, this construction crew laid down a terrific protective covering for their beautiful newly carpeted floors: Tyvek. It was awesome except for the dyes that were transferred (process called “crocking” where dyes are essentially rubbed into a fabric)… The markings repeated as if they had run the carpet through a printing press, blue “Tyvek” follow by red “logo”.  Very discouraging to the folks that had gone to such a great extent to prevent any soiling… Would be so simple to have made this error.

Anyhow, with multiple dry and damp processes… And lots of hours:

Yes, this was rewarding.  Very neat to have it work out so well.  There ended up being zero damage to the fabrics and no discolorations… and we have a very happy customer.
